Default Banned 6 months ago

I was banned around 6 months ago for abusing the trade window glitch. Yeah a ban was necessary but I mean being banned forever for something so stupid and something that was fixed overnight? Isn't 6 months enough punishment, especially for a first offense? I've sent many many support tickets to Anet and I don't even get a real response. All I get is the same automated message and my ticket gets closed. I guess I'm posting here so that Anet will at least give scammers a probationary period after a certain amount of time has passed.
I've played on this account ever since GW came out.

Even murderers get a chance at parole and I'm pretty sure killing people in real life is worse than scamming.

It would be faster to buy a new account and start fresh.

That was exploit, not scam.

You were knowingly abusing flaw in game for your benefit. That's different from lying to someone.

And with the recently uncovered dupe exploit, you might as well forget any kind of compassion, ban bat is swinging wildly this very moment.

Sorry, you were the one that abused the ToS, no matter how silly your offense was.

If you must come back, buy a new account. Then you'll probably think twice about abusing glitches.

I can't get a new account because I need written permission from Anet for that. It really isn't my fault that Anet made the game with glitches, but if people didn't use them no one would know they existed. So I was doing them a favor I guess.

Sure, you didn't murder a person, so you don't have to go to jail or be gassed. However, you scammed someone, perhaps multiple someones for your benefit, leaving them in the dust wondering what happened.

For that, you won't go to jail, but you will be banned. You have been punished.

And those are the consquences of your actions. You've made someone(s) gaming experience miserable, and as such, you are now at the mercy of ArenaNet.

Did you report the glitch? Did you discover the glitch? Or did you "hear" it from someone else, and then exploited it?

If your home lock was made faulty, and someone broke in, stole everything you had, then claiming that if they hadn't broke in, you would've never found out about the faulty lock. Did the thief break any laws?

You get no mercy from us here today. I'm sorry you chose your own actions, good luck in finding a new home. Good luck in getting permission form ANET.

Now go rethink your life.

But it was your fault that you used the fault in the game to meet your own ends. Bad argument, I'm afraid. You could've reported it to ANet without using it to exploit other people.

I found out about it accidentally though, I traded the wrong item and then when I switched it out it showed up as a different amount than I put up. The guy reported me for it and I didn't even realize it until I tried to do it to a friend and he told me. Of course telling them it was an accident doesn't matter, who would believe it?

I'm not saying that I didn't deserve a punishment, I'm saying that an infinite punishment for a finite crime seems unreasonable, to me at least.

Former Members. Members whose Accounts have been terminated by NC Interactive may not access the Service in any manner or for any reason, including through any other Account, without the express written permission of NC Interactive.

So in order to buy a new account I would have to get written permission from them first. Besides, how many people get banned forever and still care 6 months after the ban?
